Mission Statement:

The mission of the Christ Ambassadors Group of Faith Pentecostal Assembly, Burlingtion, NL., through the enablement of the Holy Spirit is to help young people mature as Christians, and prepare them, and disciple them, to be great men and women of God.

What We Believe:

We follow in ordinance with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador's Statement of Faith, which says:

  • WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
  • WE BELIEVE there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
  • WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
  • WE BELIEVE in the Blessed Hope-the Rapture of the Church at Christ's coming.
  • WE BELIEVE the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
  • WE BELIEVE regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
  • WE BELIEVE in Water Baptism by immersion for believers according to Matthew 28:19.
  • WE BELIEVE in observance of the Lord's Supper in remembrance of the death of our Lord as outlined in 1 Corinthians 11:23-32.
  • WE BELIEVE the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
  • WE BELIEVE in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
  • WE BELIEVE in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
  • WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.

Executive:

The executive of our group are voted on by members of Faith Pentecostal Assembly every couple of years.  The executive consists of four members: A president, vice-president, secretary, and member at large.  God has worked greatly through each member of the executive, and they have shown that their hearts are with all young people, and they share their desire with God, that no young person would be lost.  The youth of our group have grown a great respect for their executive, and have learned to trust them with anything they're dealing with spiritually.  The executive have shown that they're always there when the youth need them, and have proven that they can offer support and advice in any situation.

Worship Band:

Our worship band consists of people who have a great heart for music, and worshiping God.  Their desire is not to put on a show whenever they are at a service, wherever that service may be, but that they too will receive from God as they lead the people in worshiping him.  The band is fronted by Scott Newbury, and consists of many more musicians who have shown their talent that God has given them and we are thankful that they have chosen to use that talent to glorify him.  Biographies of each member of the worship team, can be found here.

Drama Team:

"Higher Realm" was formed when team leader Joan Lush felt God telling her that it was time for the youth group of Burlington, to have a team who could present the message of God’s love through the means of Drama.  As of now, the team consists of 11people. 9 actors, 1 technical advisor, and team leader, Joan Lush. Since the team has started, many other people have shown interest, and have approached the team, asking to join. Joan says that she hopes the team will expand more in the future, and that more and more youth will be touched by what this drama teams does.  The name "Higher Realm" was conceived out of the mind of team member Danielle Newbury. Danielle says that "Higher Realm" means that we want to go higher, that we won’t settle for what we have now, we want something better. She also presented the portion of scripture from Ephesians 2:6-7: And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
